Fake Google One subscription
To the best of my knowledge I’ve never given Google a penny, so I was surprised to learn that I had ‘made a subscription purchase from Google Commerce Limited on Google Play’. This came in an email supposedly from no-reply@official-mailing.com. A quick search online revealed it to be fake. The email said I’d been signed into a yearly subscription for 2TB storage at Google One, and that it would cost me €99.99 a year. I only had two days to cancel this. It was a reasonably convincing scam, with the proper Google Play logo and it even mentioned my correct email address.
