I’m expected to spell out why I’m on the stage before the show can start
I was doing a standup gig that had “industry” in. The set had gone well. He (the industry) liked it. We were chatting about my comedy career and I said I wanted to show nuance, particularly in my stage performances. “Oh no,” he revulsed. “Comedy doesn’t like nuance. In comedy, you can only be three things.”
