2016 MARKS the 35th anniversary of what is unarguably pop’s finest duo of all time, Pet Shop Boys. The British pair, former Smash Hits journalist Neil Tennant and muso boffin Chris Lowe, formed in 1981. Their still awe-inspiring debut, Please, arrived in 1986 containing such classic hits as West End Girls and Opportunities (Let’s Make Lots Of Money) along with a slew of perfect pop tunes like Love Comes Quickly and Suburbia. Chart-loads of hits followed, arty videos, remixed albums, world tours, up-and-down commercial success, pointy hats, Ab Fab, and plenty of critical acclaim.
To celebrate this milestone, the pair have not only lined up some pop shows in posh locations, but also – hurrah! – released a new album with a typically low-key title, Super.
