The ‘Planetarians’ (as they were actually called in the script) were played by five different actors – Ronald Rich, Sam Mansary, Johnny Clayton, Pat Gorman and Len Russell. According to a Daily Express report of 7 August: “One headache for producer Verity Lambert is finding names for her monsters. She said: ‘We have a list of way-out names like Gearon, Trantis, Sentreal, Beaus, and Celation. The problem is deciding who to name what. We are still working it out.’” It’s quite possible, then, that the line-up was never formally decided.
