Howdy sports fans! I hope you’re doing well and revving to get this year off the ground. That had been my plan over the Christmas break, when I took a much needed break with my better half, fellow racer Steve Heneghan and his missus. I’ve always been a fond boarder, so a week in the Alps seemed the best way to see in the new Year. And I don’t regret that decision one bit. But what I do regret is getting our chalet’s rooms mixed up, which meant I ploughed head first down a flight of stairs on the very first night of our hols. You’d have thought the others would’ve given me a bit of sympathy, but they were about as sympathetic as brick towards my grazed elbow and bruised ribs. It bothered me that much that I had to let them have it when we got out on the slopes, blitzing them all the way. Remember kids, just because you’re not on a racetrack it doesn’t mean you can’t be competitive. Well, at least that’s what I tell myself. That was a good craic, but it was good to get home and start cracking on with this year’s endeavour. I must sound like a broken record when I preach that the TT will soon be upon us, but that’s the score. The
