Is it just me or is anyone else fed up with fairy tales? Those stories we were told as children where the main characters live happily ever after and then it’s the end of the story – surely that’s not healthy?
Admittedly, bad things happen in fairy tales, so they’re not all fluff and glitter. But to suggest you can go through a battle, win and then never have to worry again – how does that equip us for real life? I’ll begin with my own story – the one where after years of pain I got my coeliac diagnosis. Admittedly, for a while it felt as though I had my happy ending – no more doubling over in agony, no more worrying about why I was suffering. I also had an unexpected (healthy) weight loss.
