Are you only able to cram your exercise in at the weekend? Then new findings from Australian research that it brings major benefits will be music to your ears. While people who exercised regularly have a 35 per cent lower chance of death, by any cause, than those who don’t exercise at all, those who only exercise at the weekend still have a 30 per cent lower risk. Weekend warriors’ risk of cardiovascular death also dropped by 41 per cent (the same as for the regularly active), and cancer risk was dented 18 per cent (21 per cent for regular exercisers). So, try to get in the recommended 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity weekly, but if you like to save it for the weekend, you still win!
