You may have heard of colour-drenching, whereby a single shade envelops a room from ceiling to skirting boards. Little Greene has added a bold twist: double-drenching, which involves painting two or more related colours on all available surfaces. “It’s fascinating to see how colour confidence and the use of colour changes over time,” says Ruth Mottershead, the company’s creative director. “The understanding of the effect of colour on the atmosphere of a space has grown over the past few years. Since introducing colour-drenching in 2021, we have seen customers move away from traditional schemes to embrace deep and mid-tone hues from floor to ceiling, creating engaging, inviting spaces.”
