What are the first things you should do when you get a new Mac? Whether you’ve just got a new Mac Studio M1Ultra or a MacBook Air, there are plenty of ways in which you can personalise and customise it. Make it your own – and stand out from the crowd. If you have had your Mac for a while, perhaps a brand new look is what you need. Personalise the desktop, folder icons and folder contents. Change the look of windows and menus, change the mouse pointer, the Dock and more. We show the most common ways to do this here, but dig into System Preferences and app settings if you wish to find many more customisations.
