It is a truism to say that it is easier to predict the past than it is to predict the future, or maybe that’s just nonsense. But the beginning of a new year is always an exciting time for personal astrologers. Will we be able to get it right this year? Did we even get it right last year? Did anyone notice when we didn’t? (Yes. Ed.)
And yet, here are some questions that will perhaps continue to haunt us through 2018. Will Richard Leonard be able to put a coherent speech together that doesn’t simultaneously tee-up nutmegs for the First Minister and face-palms for everyone else? Will the UK Government’s incompetence actually turn out to be real incompetence and not just pretend incompetence intended to distract from some other sort of incompetence? Will BBC Scotland be able to find Ruth Davidson when there are some inconvenient questions to be asked? (No. Ed.).
So many conundrums, unanswered questions, riddles in the sand, mysteries of the universe. We may never really know what will happen in 2018, but good luck everyone because we’re probably going to need it.
