Church groups are being invited to take part in a special festival of storytelling and remembrance which will take place in November.
To Absent Friends, which will take place from November 1 to 7, is organised by Good Life, Good Death, Good Grief, an alliance working to make Scotland more supportive around death, dying and bereavement, which is run by the Scottish Partnership for Palliative Care. The festival aims to give people across Scotland the opportunity to remember loved ones who have died, through stories, celebrations and acts of reminiscence.
During previous festivals Wardie Parish Church in Edinburgh held a special service and opened their doors so people could record the name of their absent friend in a memory book. Cramond Kirk in Edinburgh has also turned their Saturday Breakfast Club into a Café of Reminiscence.
