"It’s that time of year where luminaries across the tech world try to predict what will happen in the next 12 months. First, a safe bet… database as a service (DBaaS) will continue to grow. DBaaS is the leading way to consume databases as it’s more convenient for developers and non-DBAs, which is most of us. However, most DBaaS are proprietary, so we’ll see more open source solutions emerging to fill this gap.
