Classic cars are a part of Cuba that everyone is familiar with, and I knew I would see them on my trip. On the first day, I took a walking tour of Havana – and that’s when it struck me just how many there are. stood at an intersection and saw classic cars of any and every colour pass by, in just a few minutes. They play such a huge part in the visual landscape of the city. Many are used as taxis and for tourists to take rides in, so you can see them down practically any street in Havana. During my first few days, decided to take a few photos of the cars from a specific angle, and mix up the colours to create a spectrum. This quickly turned into a mini personal project, as made it my goal to capture every colour that could. Shades like reds, blues and pinks were very common; oranges, greens and yellows were not. By the last few days of the trip, I was on a mission to fill in the missing gaps and would look only for specific colours. ended up with more than 100 photos. Together, they show how the cars really add to Havana’s sense of vibrancy.
