No company survives for 130 years without the ability to adapt and innovate, and this is never truer than for Asanuma, the Japanese construction company proving as resilient as the structures it builds. Japan’s unique seismic geology provides serious challenges for the domestic construction industry, and the country’s aging infrastructure requires increased maintenance and repair work.
Asanuma uses all of its experience to ensure the safety of its projects as it leads this rebuilding of Japan’s infrastructure, and president Makoto Asanuma recognizes that construction must pivot towards more ecological practices in order to help Japan become carbon neutral by 2050. “We need to create an environment where people can live safely and securely, which will also lead to further economic growth,” he says. “I think that with our civil engineering division we will be able to exert leadership in rebuilding our country.”
