The return to service of the CalMac ferry MV Clansman after repairs to its propulsion system caused comment. Peter Morrison: ‘I think Robin Currie’s statement in todays Oban Times was a bit selflsh, basically he is saying Islay needs the ferry so too bad everyone else. A very short sighted view in my opinion.’
James Strang: ‘It’s not really news though things happen out with normal control and maybe not on this post but on others calmac have been getting pelters unnecessarily breakdowns and human error occur on big jobs fact.’ Alex Watkins: ‘Aboot time.’ Joanna Malcolm: ‘Wooooo.’ Elda Rowan: ‘Hip hip hooray the mighty Clansman is back.’ A 360-degree photograph of Oban taken from Pulpit Hill and published on our Facebook page prompted complaints about trees spoiling the view.
Gillies Pagan: ‘Lovely spot - shame about the trees spoiling the view. I wrote to the council about getting the trees lopped/tidied up over two years ago, they replied in May 2016 saying they would look into it. Two years on, nothing done.’
