Residents of Eadar Glinn Care Home will be gifted extra Christmas presents this year thanks to the generosity of staff and friends of McCaig’s Warehouse in Oban who are buying, wrapping and delivering mystery gifts for them to open on Christmas Day. Shoppers at the Railway Pier store are also being encouraged to buy small presents from £3-£6 for the care home. Supervisor Kelley Johnston said this is the first year it has run this appeal, which started at the beginning of December and finishes today (Thursday December 22). ‘We wanted to do something different,’ Kelley said. ‘It’s a good cause. Some people do not have family, or they are away from their family. We are trying to brighten up their Christmas a bit. People have been very generous. If it is a success, it will be a different charity next year.’ Pictured left to right, McCaig’s Warehouse staff Amanda Pitts, Kelley Johnston, Elaine Buchanan and Marion Chamberlain. 15_t52mccaig’scarehomegifts01
