North Connel mum Fiona Bennett has raised £12,600 for Yazidi refugees in Iraq braving a reaching speeds of 200km an hour. The daring stunt over Glenrothes with Skydive St Andrews saw the mum-of two and her journalist friend Faith Orr keep a promise to supporters who backed their appeal earlier this year to help get £300,000 worth of life-saving medical supplies to two hospitals and a mobile clinic in Sinjar. Three weeks ago, a cargo of eight Containers nally arrived in Basra from the UK, lled with the urgently-needed supplies, ahead of the last leg of its mammoth journey to Sinjar.
