Waterstones’ manager, Ewan Soutar admits he is living the dream.
Ewan left his native Dundee for the west highlands three years ago and when asked why he wanted to move to Oban, he says: ‘Just the place itself. Oban has a beautiful setting and it’s given me the opportunity to explore the islands. I’ve got myself a wee tent and now have the freedom to go exploring. Ewan has been with Waterstones for nine years and his background makes him a very natural fit for the role having studied English literature at Dundee University. Ewan has shown a willingness to diversify including an initiative earlier this summer to accommodate an exhibition of work by members of Oban Photographic Club. Ewan says ‘It was a resounding success and very well received by both locals and visitors alike’.
