Ihave been a yogi longer than a parent. Exploring yoga and all that comes with it has been my closest companion through the mountains and valleys of parenting. People have come and gone, but my practice has sustained me. Each part of the practice has served me when I needed it to. My physical practice offers strengthening and toning when things become too slack. The deep relaxation brings a welcome break during days when things are just too hard to face. My meditation journey has been wild, but has born such delicious fruit during times when clarity and focus abandon me and I am left desperately seeking peace. Yoga nidra slowly built me up again after a stressful life change left me drained on every level. And then there is the breath, the ultimate gift of life. Through my practice, I have learned that just one breath can change the way I feel, shift my mood and bring me straight to the present moment. A single conscious breath makes me feel whole again, and in that wholeness, I am free.
