Editor’s letter

After months of not swimming, if you are anything like me you are making the most of your local swimming spots. I am indulging in some open water tourism, cycling to Shepperton, Royal London Docks, Divers Cove, Beckenham Place Park Lake, Brockwell Lido - plus a few wild swims in the Thames. My lockdown pounds are definitely shifting!

In this issue Keri-anne Payne gives us an open water checklist to make sure the fundamentals of our stroke are solid, Ray Gibbs and Alice Todd discuss the unexpected benefits lockdown could have on our swimming, and Simon Murie recommends lesser known swim spots for some post-lockdown swimspiration. And Simon Griffiths has some radical suggestions to help make our rivers safer for swimmers.
