I am a Dublin man. I moved from the city 16 years ago
with my family when they were small, just to live in rural Ireland. I moved deliberately to this spot because of the water. I started freshwater swimming as soon as I got here. This particular village we live in is renowned for fishing. And they said to me, have you got a boat? Are you going to fish? What are you going to do? And I said I am going to be in the water, not on it. They said nobody swims here.
