With their spiky bodies and snuffling noses, there is something undeniably cute about the humble hedgehog. While they were once a common sight in UK gardens, they are now increasingly rare. In fact, they were recently classed as vulnerable to extinction. According to the Wildlife Trusts, there were 1.5 million hedgehogs in 1995, but today it is believed that there are fewer than 500,000 and that number continues to drop.
