Welcome in 2016 with the January issue of Popular Patchwork. From tips to create a successful sewing space, to a project to create a custom size cover for your sewing machine, we have the perfect makes and features to inspire your new year quilting.

Our cover project is the stunning Interstella quilt. Designed by regular contributor Mandy Munroe the clever colour wash effect makes this a project that is sure to brighten up the winter days. We also have Swirly Stars, a modern quilt from Janet Goddard, the cosy Nordic Stag Cushion from Debbie von Grabler-Cozier and a vintage style wall hanging designed by Village Fabrics. If you are planning to get organised with your new year sewing take a look at Kerry Foster’s Block Cosy; this will help keep your blocks tidy in style!

In our main feature we take a tour of The People’s History Museum in Manchester, and look at some of the textile Banners from their extensive collection.
