Why snake bites are more deadly for dogs
Cats are more like to swat at snakes with their paws.

www.shutterstock.com Cats are twice as likely to survive a venomous snakebite than dogs, and the reasons behind this strange phenomenon have now been revealed thanks to research carried out by the University of Queensland in Australia. The team involved, led by Christina Zdenek and Associate Professor Bryan Fry, compared the effects of snake venoms on the blood clotting agents of both dogs and cats, in the hope of getting a better understanding of how to save the lives of pets that were bitten.
