MY PROG
Richard Wileman (Karda Estra)
The great and good of progressive music give us a glimpse into their prog worlds. As told to Grant Moon
PRESS/MIKE BLANCHARD
Where’s home?
Sunny Swindon.
Your earliest prog memory?
Hearing 10cc’s I’m Mandy Fly Me on the radio, around 1976. I was 10 years old. It was the first time I was aware of a story in a song, and it was more widescreen than the regular songs I was hearing.
First prog album you bought?
ELP’s Trilogy when I was about 14. A friend’s brother had Brain Salad Surgery so I decided to go for something different.
And the last?
Charlie Cawood’s Blurring Into Motion. I know Charlie a little bit and he’s a great musician.
