“IT’S ABOUT MOTION,” says Playgrounded’s deepthinking synth player, Orestis Zafeiriou of the band’s approach to songwriting.
“Our centre is hardly ever a riff,” adds guitarist Michael Kotsirakis, “it’s a sound design structure or a loop that always moves the song forwards. That approach comes from our electronic influences. For me the important part of electronic music is the sense of being lost in a space; so it was a question of: how we do we mix this with the music we grew up with?”
