ILLUSION
Out Of The Mist/Illusion DEMON
Vinyl reissues for original Renaissance line-up, reunited in the 70s.
It’s easy to forget that, given the band’s immense success with Annie Haslam from 1972’s Prologue onwards, Renaissance were quite a different proposition, line-up wise, on their first two albums, Renaissance (1969) and Illusion (1971). It was the original line-up who recorded the band’s selftitled debut (incidentally the only Renaissance album to chart in the UK, until Northern Lights bolstered 1978’s A Song For All Seasons into the Top 40), who reunited under the title of that second album. This was barring singer Keith Relf, who died a year before the band’s first album Out Of The Mist, with fellow Yardbird Jim McCarty exiting the drum seat to play guitar and sing with Keith’s sister, Jane. And now both this and the self-titled 1978 follow-up have been reissued on vinyl.
