Loam, better known as Liam McLaughlin to Ma and Pa, is a Scottish guitarist some readers may have seen performing with Iamthemorning. He’s also worked as a live guitarist with the likes of Scottish prog metallers Orynthia and fellow guitarist Sithu Aye, and here, on his new six-track EP, he conjures up a quite fusion-tastic blur of notes, twists, turns and melodies that also touches upon funk, blues and hard rock in the most engaging of manners.
