THE PINEAPPLE THIEF
Little Man KSCOPE
Brit art-rockers’ melancholic fifth album, remixed and remastered.
Much great art comes through adversity, and The Pineapple Thief’s 2006 album Little Man is the perfect example of pushing through the darkness to find light. Written in the wake of the loss of singer/guitarist Bruce Soord’s prematurelyborn son, Felix, it aches with pain and longing. From the poignant cover, featuring an empty set of park swings, to the plaintive lyrics of the title track (‘In my dreams you have your mother’s smile/Even though we touched for just a while’), it’s clear that making the album must have taken a herculean effort of emotion.
