Chinese builder Jinling Shipyard has delivered Eco Adriatica, the 11th vessel in a 12-strong Grimaldi Group series of 67,311gt hybrid roro ferries powered by MAN-B&W machinery delivering 25,560kW for a service speed of 20.8 knots.
The 238m Eco Adriatica completed a delivery voyage from Nanjing to Italy as the latest in a Jinling production sequence that began with Eco Valencia in 2020. She provide 7,800 lane metres of freight space over seven decks, and accommodates the equivalent to 500 trailers and 180 cars. Capacity is twice that of ferries in the previous Grimaldi freight vessel building programmes, but Eco Adriatica and her sisters consume no more fuel.
