MARTIN Johnson was preparing a barbecue at home last June when he learned that the Inter Milan and former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen had collapsed while playing for Denmark against Norway at Euro 2020.
The 29-year old received lifesaving treatment on the pitch after suffering a cardiac arrest and was taken to where he had an implantable cardioverter defibrillator device fitted, a pacemaker which can prevent fatal arrests by discharging a hospital cardiac jolt to restore a regular heart rhythm.
