Jeep builds its off-roading SUVs at 10 plants around the world, including the Wrangler and Gladiator models at its Toledo, Ohio headquarters where Willys-Overland started production of the Civilian Jeep model in 1945. Other US factories are in Illinois and Michigan, while overseas locations include Fiat factories in Melfi, Italy; Tychy Poland; Goiana, Brazil; and Guangzhou, China. The company sold nearly 1.3 million cars in 2021, up a fairly weak four per cent on the previous year. Interestingly, Jeep is the strongest brand for Stellantis, ahead of Fiat and Peugeot with SUV sales still strong in Europe and the Americas.
