Building any show car is a bold statement, but by combining classic looks and custom paint, Shaun Howe has knocked this one clean out the park. Last time we left Mr Howe it was driving off into the sunset in his divine Diamond Green Ghia, its 17-inch AIR Evos glinting in the sun. That was in our Summer 2013 issue. Understandably, that car received plenty of attention, at shows, in magazines and on the street but, as with anything at the top of its game, its lifespan was short. “Realistically, show cars like
these have only got a shelf life of a year, tops, so you don’t have to put up with all the cleaning and polishing for very long,” says Shaun with a grin.
With that in mind, rather than going through the build of the car from the beginning, I thought we’d start by seeing just what goes into keeping a car like this in show condition. Shaun: “It’s a big commitment. You’ve got to put a lot of time and effort in to keep them at their best.”
