The theater is the first round of the OKJ European Championship in Genk; specifically, one of the heats on Saturday morning when the rain begins to fall all of a sudden. The heat had just started, the drivers are riding slicks and a large part of the track is still dry. As soon as the rain arrives, the scenario changes drastically and, despite a red and yellow striped flag (indicating the slippery surface) thedrivers arrive at their normal pace towards the wet corner, where the first karts glide quickly against the barriers without any chance of slowing down. In a few seconds, a large part of the group slides and crashes into the barriers - and onto the other karts who’ve already stopped with the drivers still dangerously on board. The images are indeed impressive, but in the end, no one gets seriously hurt, thankfully. But what really happened? Is it possible that suddenly everyone (or almost everyone) had become unable to drive and only at that precise moment, as someone sarcastically asked on social networks?
