The Karacal is designed for prolonged off-road training on medium and long distances and I found these shoes were also perfect for post-race recovery runs, thanks to the exceptional comfort and high breathability. The compact collar and traditionally constructed tongue felt lovely to run in, especially during warmer runs. The 3D mesh single-layer seamless upper felt snug and highly breathable, and the rear microfibre reinforcements gave extra support which improved the overall stability of the shoe. These shoes are really light and flexible;
LA Sportiva has worked hard to reduce the weight of all the materials used, including the lightweight and durable dual density EVA midsole. The thermo-form toe cap gave good protection from debris on the trails and I loved the integrated brake system which improves your traction and lets you slam on the brakes when needed – even at top speed.
