Think of Charles Dickens, Charlotte Brontë or Jane Austen, and you will be taken back in time to how authors wrote in days gone by. Their books may be hundreds of years old but they are still being read by millions today. Their appeal and relevance to today’s discerning reader, who has far less time on their hands and live in a fast-paced, technological age, have not been dampened by time and they are as much loved now as they ever were.
For this month, your writing group is going retro. The idea of this workshop is to immerse your members in a literary age gone by and uncover what it is about these classics that have seen them stand the test of time, thrilling generation after generation of new readers.
