Describing itself as ‘a magazine about reading, for and by readers’ New York-based Oh Reader is published in print and online four times a year and is looking for non fiction/essay, humour and poetry to include ‘insightful stories, hilarious observations, fascinating interviews and a lot of wordnerdery’. Example stories can be read on the website. Fiction, book reviews and author interviews are not wanted.
If you have an idea for a non fiction or humour piece, you should initially send a pitch. For poetry, submit completed poems. Submissions should be made using the form on the website and this will include questions on your unique point of view as a writer, what your piece is about and whether you have been published elsewhere. You should gain a response within 6-8 weeks.
