How I got published
Suzanne Jackson’s The Beguiler is published by the new Tickety Boo Press imprint Venus Ascending. She shares her path to publication with Dolores Gordon-Smith

I began writing short stories, purely for myself, cutting out pictures from magazines for inspiration. However, it wasn’t until my children had left home that I wondered if I could write a fantasy novel. I discovered online forums. Wow! A writing community, and I hadn’t even known. Over time I recognised the names of the regulars, but I still didn’t know if my own writing was any good. I put up a small section for critique. Then out of the blue I got a private message: Would I be interested in exchanging work for critique? And this from a well-known member, Jo Zebedee, someone I knew I could trust. Jo was a determined writer and going places. Would I be interested? I was ecstatic!
