MATT BAKER: WHY HE IS A RACING RIO
Matt Baker is used to a hectic schedule but this August he will find it hard
to catch his breath. On August 4 he’s an integral part of the Country file Live Show at Blenheim Palace, then the next day, heads across the world to Rio for the Olympics where he’ll be commentating on gymnastics. Having been a gymnast himself, it’s a job he is more than qualified to do. Matt won accolades a-plenty for his coverage at the Olympics in London in 2012. Social media was all a-twitter with comments such as, ‘Matt Baker definitely gets gold for the gymnastics commentary, I love how excitable and encouraging he is’ and ‘Matt’s enthusiasm for all events and athletes is absolutely fantastic’. “I’m very proud and excited to be a member of the BBC sports team,” said Matt, speaking recently on the BBC sports website.
