Generous easyJet passengers have helped the airline raise more than £10m from onboard collections for UNICEF. Since 2012 the UNICEF and easyJet ‘Change for Good’ partnership has helped to vaccinate more than 19 million children against polio, and 5.3 million mothers and babies against other deadly diseases. That’s more than the population of Paris, Barcelona and Lisbon combined. Mike Penrose, UNICEF’s UK Executive Director, commented: “This year, fewer children have been paralysed by polio than ever before. But while the disease continues to survive anywhere, children everywhere must still be vaccinated. UNICEF is aiming for polio to be eradicated by 2019; and the ongoing support of our partners and supporters will be invaluable in achieving this goal. This is a oncein- a-generation opportunity to end polio forever.”
