CATCH BIG SPRING CARP
It's like someone has just flicked a switch that’s turned fishing on in the last week – and it couldn’t have come soon enough! While the rivers ended on a high for many anglers, giving us plenty to talk about in the pub, there’s always the ‘doldrums’ – those couple of weeks before our spring species like bream, tench and carp really start to appear in numbers. Waiting for them to begin feeding can be one of the most frustrating things in fishing, and no amount of respooling your reels, retying rigs and sorting out baits can make up for the lack of action. Thankfully, that period is over and the feeding fish have arrived! As usual, it’s the bream that have been first to show, but the number of carp
coming out is also very welcoming.
