Looking at the images from Leyburn’s 1940s Weekend held at Thornborough Hall and in the main town square, you might think you were on a Second World War film or TV set.
Army tanks and vehicles roll round the North Yorkshire town, which is packed with men dressed in GI uniforms and as British servicemen, land girls in dungarees, spivs in suits and women with ‘Victory roll’ hairdos wearing floral frocks and carrying gas masks.
Music, dancing and vintage fashion form a big part of the themed events and Louise Lewis is organising her Home Front Vintage Fair in the hall itself with more stalls in the grounds on Saturday and Sunday, July 22-23.
