What Happened to Good Design, a summer selling exhibition at Hill House in Kensington Church Street, was inspired by a show at design shop Heal’s in 1982 of the same name. It offers works from the Arts & Crafts period and beyond. Among the highlights is a Charles Robert Ashbee wardrobe with repoussé peacock panels and fine ironwork fittings (a detail shown below) priced at around £15,000-20,000.
Pieces by Liberty, Guild of Handicraft and Mouseman form part of the show that has a price range of £500-25,000.
