Among sales from Freya Mitton’s stand at the Westonbirt fair were a number of works by artists Diana Armfield (b.1920) and Bernard Dunstan (1920-2017) which sold in the region of £3000-4000. They included Dunstan’s Child Asleep, this 10 x 13¼in (25.5 x 33.5cm) oil on board.
A 19th century plaster bust of Napoleon was among sales at the recent Cotswold Decorative Antiques & Art Fair, which takes place in Westonbirt School near Tetbury three times a year.
The event has run for more than 25 years and has an “immense following,” says organiser Sue Ede of Cooper Events. “Over the last four or five years the fair has shifted its identity as Tetbury has changed. It’s now more decorative rather than just traditional antiques.”
