Three Arran volunteers’ outstanding support for local NHS hearing aid users and inspirational fundraising has been recognised with a UK charity award.
Nancy Bremner, Fiona Mackenzie and Susan Mc- Nicol were awarded Action on Hearing Loss’s UK volunteer fundraisers of the year in recognition of their contributions towards fundraising activities and collections which helped raise £1700 for the charity’s Hear to Help service on the island.
The Hear to Help volunteers, who have been trained by NHS Ayrshire & Arran audiology, help islanders to hear their family and friends more clearly by cleaning, re-tubing and adjusting NHS hearing aids so that they work more effectively.
