BARELY two years after inspiring the nation at the first Invictus Games, Dave Henson won his first senior British medal in the T42 200m at the European Championships in Grosseto this month.
Running into a strong 2.6m/ sec headwind, Henson clocked 25.89 to win silver behind world record-holder Richard Whitehead’s 25.09.
Army veteran Henson lost both legs to an IED in 2011 but has become one of Britain’s best Paralympic athletes and said: “I’m delighted to win silver, my first international medal and it is great to do it here at the European Championships.”
