The 16th edition of the Iris Prize LGBT+ Film Festival returns to Cardiff in full force from 11-16 October after two years of digital events due to the Covid pandemic. The world’s biggest short-film festival hands out a mighty £30,000 prize to the winning film, and competition is always strong. Among the many talents attending is Brooklyn-based film-maker Dennis Shinners, whose work was shortlisted at the festival’s first outing back in 2007. Returning this year, he will bring a feature-length version of his latest film, Barrio Boy. The labour of love (pictured) will receive its world premiere at the Cardiff event.
