Railway stations is the theme of the July issue of Australian Railway History. The little-known Cooerwull Station at Lithgow, opened in 1941 for workers' trains bringing employees to the Small Arms Factory nearby is the subject of David Overson's fascinating article. While special workers' trains were common in our major cities, their operation to a regional center is unusual.

Jim Longworth and Rodney Deacon continue the station theme with an analysis of the styles and evolution of railway platforms in New South Wales. Their well-illustrated article provides readers with the basis for checking out the eras and styles of platforms they encounter during railway journeys.

Philip Dunn rounds off his series of articles on the N Class 'Mikado' locomotives of the Victorian Railways with an account of the trials undertaken with class-leader N 110 with a Franklin booster in 1926; while Neville Pollard rounds off the issue with a short 'Explorer' piece on how the NSW Railways responded to pilfering issues during World War II.

Highly recommended Ozzie Railway History Mag

Anyone interested in Australian Railway history, this is a well produced, and high quality mag. My great grandfather helped built many of these railways in late 19C. Revisado 22 noviembre 2018
