Australian Railway History  |  July 2020
Rob Clark has researched the commemorative special train that was organised by the Western Australian Government Railways (WAGR) for the first mainline diesel-electric locomotives, namely the X Class. Many interesting dignitaries of the time rode the train, including Mr C G C Wayne, who was at the time General Manager, Tasmanian Government Railways. Mr Wayne would later become the WAGR Commissioner of Railways. He was a truly a railway man of his time and his international railway career speaks for itself in a special dedication to him on pages 14 and 15.
We also have some extended coverage for 50 years of the Indian-Pacific!
