Terry Hearn catches the Wasing Parrot at 63lb.

Terry's Wasing campaign came good this February as he finally landed his nemesis, the Parrot. He had waded through the stock once again over the past two years, taking a huge number of the residents, much like his Burghfield campaign. Seeing others catch it as virtually their first carp from the venue did not deter him… of course not… he put in maximum effort as usual. There was always the chance that Terry could have become the first English angler to catch two different British record carp, but it was not to be. However who could be disappointed with a 63lb’er? Certainly not Terry. He was on cloud nine of course, admitting that the longer the campaign the more satisfying the end result. We all congratulate him of course. But where now? Back to Ashmead for another very difficult big’un? We will have to see. For now let's just wonder in awe at his terrific beast. We have some fantastic shots in this issue and a great story of the capture from the main man himself.

So, the theme of this month’s issue is “Day Ticket Tactics and Tales”. It's that time of the year again when the likes of Sandhurst, Cottington, Catch 22 etc come into their own, and those highly sought after early season whackers come on the munch. So we've sought some advice from some guys who really know their stuff when in comes to day ticket fishing: Barry and Ben O’Connor, Stevie Briggs and a newcomer to BC, John Cooper. These guys have some excellent advice, tips and little edges that will definitely catch you some extra fish this year.
